Just weeks after Gypsy Rose Blanchard was released from prison, a special promising to give "unprecedented access" to her life and story is set to air on Lifetime.
Part 1 of six-hour special "The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard" premieres on Lifetime Friday, Jan. 5, with streaming available the next day. According to the show's description, which was filmed while Blanchard was still in prison, "she is finally ready to tell her truth before she becomes a free woman for the first time in her life."
Here's what to know about the Lifetime special and when you can catch new episodes.
'The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard' premiere date
Part 1, or the first two episodes of the six-hour special, will air on Lifetime Jan. 5 beginning at 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. CST. It will be available to stream on various services and on the Lifetime app the next day.

Who is Gypsy Rose Blanchard?
Blanchard, 32, pled guilty to a second-degree murder charge for conspiring with her then-boyfriend Nick Godejohn to kill her abusive mother in 2015. Godejohn remains in prison, and in 2022, Blanchard married Ryan Scott Anderson, a 37-year-old teacher based in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, allegedly suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, where those with the condition make children sick by creating fake symptoms of disease or inducing real ones.
She served about 85% of her 10-year sentence, became eligible for parole in September and was released from prison Dec. 28.
Blanchard also recently announced the release of an eBook titled “Release,” set to come out on Jan. 9.
